NYC Part Two
6 May 2010Finally got to play with CRYSTAL STILTS at The Bellhouse. A pleasure wandering round Park Slope with these guys. Had a joyous show together. Really sweet, warm crowd with some friendly faces popping up (Hardeep, Eric & Leslie, Becky Gordon). Next day we took a drive out to rock-rock-Rockaway Beach and laughed our socks off then gorged on barbecue heaven. I even got to fly a kite (something I’d tried and failed to do since the 70s).
Now we’re sat at home in Not-so-great Britain awaiting the election result. We have wine and snacks to cushion the blow.

We finally made it to New York despite the volcano (which i had a great admiration for and could only laugh when it fucked-up all our plans). Yesterday we spent a day recording in a funky little basement studio in a posh part of Brooklyn. Tracks recorded include CLOWN’S FEET, JUMP THE FENCE and (MY BABY’S) DOUBLE ESPRESSO. Really easy going session with Gary Olsen and JB from Crystal Stilts. Gonna go record our voices on friday hopefully. I’m now gonna wander round Manhattan with the instrumental rough mixes and probably looking like a freak mouthing to himself as i struggle to fit some wit to this music. Probably swing by Kev ‘What’s Yr Rupture’ Pederson’s shop THE TUCK SHOP on St Marks. He serves such lovely thai pies. Such an excellent pie-tender……
1990s Bell House gig re-scheduled for FRIDAY!!!

We’re finally about to get over to NYC today and have managed to reschedule our gig at the Bell House, Brooklyn with Crystal Stilts and Tanks Amigo!!!
It’s now on this Friday the 30th April…
We just had to paddle to Iceland in a corracle and throw Michael into the volcano as a living sacrifice in order to pacify it…
